Anthro Wolf guy design, Rex (commision) by Precia-T Anthro Wolf guy design, Rex (commision) by Precia-T
Another commision for :iconthecreatorof4: and his O'C Rex. It's anthro teenage half human half wolf.

EDIT:
Ok. So I got information about his too short pants. So it doesn't matter if it cover what need to be cover but I wouldn't want people to pay attention on that area so I corrected his outfit and made it a bit longer.
Thank you for suggestion.

It's nice but why did you label this as anthro? It's just a dude with paws, tail and ears.

Anthro simply means that it has human traits- given that this guy has a very human build, I'd say he counts. In fact, you could totally call a human with no nohuman traits anthro; most people don't because it renders the term meaningless.

Typically people only use the word Anthro to refer to the ones all covered in fur with a muzzle and everything.
People would call this Kemonomimi.

I know how people typically use the word, but that doesn't make the person who posted the picture wrong?

Oh okay. That's why irony doesn't mean 'The use of words expressing something other than their literal meaning' because people use it to mean 'something done for humor rather than a genuine desire to do it.' :V

Anthro literally means 'having human traits.' I am like 99% sure this character has human traits.

You're the one who showed up to say that using the literal definition of a word is somehow wrong tho

I think this is probably zoomorphic and not anthropomorphic but most people would just end up confused... Anyways, nice work! Great expressions.

It would be more zoomorphic if he were on all fours or something. The most common way to distinguish between the two is stance- human stance= anthro, animal stance= zoo.

Ah, maybe that's the current trend. I just go by the definitions. Anthro= adding human attributes to non humans (so they probably look mostly non-human, like talking toasters), and zoomorphic adding animal traits to non-animals. So they probably look less animalistic, like the classic wolfman. In the end, this guy may very well be anthro if he started as a wolf and not "let's make a boy with wolf parts". I just never see kemonomimi described as anthro so it took me off guard. Current terminology is always hard to keep a track of. :)

I wouldn't call it current, so much. I know I've seen people with what seem to be minor animal traits as far back as 2003... I dunno, it's weird, but I don't think it's right to correct someone calling their humanoid character "anthro."

DA went into read only mode and ate my reply so I'll try to shorten it!

I meant calling catgirls anthro recent, not catgirls in general. :) Sorry if I've offended you but I just like to help people label things correctly because I appreciate it myself and was only trying to help. I've only seen talking dogs and 50/50 mixes being labeled anthro for as long as I've been online. I'm aware that language evolves, however, so if you think this applies then sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been adopted by kemonomimi artists because of the movement of "anthro, not furry" that happened around 06. My intent was only to spread knowledge, not offend. :) Have fun drawing!

You haven't offended me at all, no worries! I think you're probably right that it goes back to the "anthro, not furry" thing, aha. One way or another, I feel like it's best to let people use the term they prefer.

I love the art style... have you ever thought of doing full anthro: straight up digitigrade legs, full fur body, and animal heads rather than just the hands, feet, ears, and tail?
