Great job on him, you're artwork looks so effortless but it takes so much talent!
I decided to try out this whole "commission" thing by requesting an anime-style character design sheet of Max, an RPG character I've played for many years. She requested that I fill out a questionnaire with descriptions, which I did, but I wanted to give a lot of leeway to portray Max in her own style. Her style reminds me of classic anime TV series, and takes me back to staring at the character reference sketches in the back of the old Robotech Art One book for hours. I wanted to see how she'd handle my longest-running original character.
Obviously, I have a pretty exact idea of what Max looks like in my head, but I can't draw worth a damn, so I'll never be able to put it to paper. Her interpretation is a fun thing to see. All of the pertinent details (Hooded cloak! Psi-Sword! Magic phoenix tattoo!) are there, but interpreted through her lens, which is precisely what I wanted. Details like ornate hilt of Max's Psi-Sword and the look of his tattered, homespun outfit were entirely her own.
was in constant contact with me during the process (thanks to the wonders of modern technology). She put in a solid day's worth of work on these and was happy to make little tweaks that I suggested. It was a lot of fun to work with an artist on a project like this, and I'll almost certainly do it again.
...But, wait... Psi-Sword (a beautifully designed one, too)? Magic Tattoo? A Wilk's laser rifle in the bottom right corner? Is this for Rifts, by chance? If so, gotta show some love for another Rifts RPG player! Been a fan for years and always nice to find others who have even heard of the game.
Again, very well done piece, Precia! Cheers and happy gaming!
Dayum, you're good.
