Slown Down..
I never ask for it but this time I will. Please fave this journal so the more people see it, the more know how breaks are important! (By breaks optimologhists mean to look at something that is really far away, like behing the window) Or else you will meet a needle very close to your eye ;)

In the previous journal I wrote my health needs hospitalization. At first as usual I decided not to share the details. But since it's about graphic and one ohter thing, I decided to do so. I know your life, life of 21th century person is fast, so you might not find time to read this journal though there is some warning for you if you're graphics or if you're a person who, like me, is living fast.

I went to hospital with (that's really humiliating to open like this) double vision problem. I ended up on neurology with Myasthenia and Multiple sclerosis suspicion, a disease where you may loose your vision and general nerve capability and you obviously die in the end. I've been through a lot of painful tests like placing niddles inside eye muscles and drilling them to check if they work properly. After a week The final diagnosis was that I suffer with acomodation spasm. I use the largest cintiq and I had overcorrected glasses. Lately I bought a horse to be honest and had to speed up with commissions to pay for my new guy. I ended up working for over 12 hours daily with record of 18h /day. Now. The acomodation spasm may meet you when you work with close distance for a long time without breaks. Guys. I really never cared for breaks and stuff. BUt that caused me a lot of problems.

CINTIQ MAKES YOU TO LOOK AT THE LIGHT SCREEN FROM CLOSER DISTANCE THAT IN CASE OF REGULAR SCREENS (so the eye muscles are pernamently tensed)

The spasm really phicically hurts. Acomodation problem is something you don't feel. For a month, two. But then your eyebrow, eyelid suddenly falls down, whole face is in pain, eyeballs not to mention. And I honestly don't say that to receive compassion, absolutely. The problem Is really rare. Cintiq's are rare. Precise, lineart work for hours is rare so medicine don't know that, that's why I write about it. I obviously overworked myself lately but still, headaches on your forehead, temples, EYEBROWS, eyelids, terrible vision tireness, blurry vision and finally double vision may be caused by computer work. Things that we usually ignore. I've been through tests and ideas, that I might be a victim of the worst neurological diseas just because of computer syndrom that we all ignore. It would also be better if I didn't draw for over 8h a day.

Nobody made tests on cintiqs yet because it's still a uncommon, expensive device. It's not a bad thing that will ruin you but possesing it, means understanding the matter of breaks.

I got ban for drawing and using cintiq for next week until the spasm will let me go. After that I will be slowly comming back to work so I could actually affort a regular tablet to work on it in turns.

As a conclusion it's not only cintiq to blame. CINTIQ,  WRONG EYE CORRECTION (Even small), OVERWORK (over 8h a day, 7 d a week won't give possibility for eyes to rest and regenerate) and finally DRAWING AT NIGHTS when your eye is not adapted to work

Comming back soon to you
